This is the largest update in the app's history: Amator has stopped being only the place where you arrange a game and become the place where you book and pay for the pitch. Along with it comes an entirely new section for pitch owners.
Some of what follows is already live and some arrives over the coming weeks. We describe it together so the whole picture is visible — we are not labelling each item "now" or "soon", because this is one coherent release.
New features
Renting pitches and paying for them
- A pitch can be booked and paid for inside the app — from the Amator wallet, with no transfers and no screenshots.
- Book while creating a game. You choose the pitch and a free slot in the same wizard where you create the game, and the game is created with the pitch already attached.
- You can rent part of a pitch — a half, a third, a quarter. It is clear which part you are taking: the full name, and a small diagram with your slice highlighted.
- The time grid matches your game. A 90-minute game shows 90-minute slots, not hours you have to add up in your head.
- The price is shown before you book: the rent, the fee, and exactly what will be held on your wallet.
- Pricing by headcount. Some pitches sell this way: a base price covers N players, and each one after that adds a rate. The app now shows and calculates it before you pay.
- Every booking has a code you can simply read out at the desk.
- Cancelling the game releases the pitch too — no need to remember two cancellations.
- A booking request can be withdrawn while the venue has not answered it.
- A venue can confirm bookings by hand — you then see "awaiting confirmation" rather than assuming everything is settled.
- The venue's house rules are shown and accepted before the booking, not after.
- The pitch catalogue shows a "from" price — and the length of rental it is calculated from.
Wallet and fees
- The Amator wallet: balance, history of movements, top-ups by card and BLIK.
- History is split into tabs, and held money is shown separately from available — you can see exactly what is reserved and for what.
- Every row in the history names the game or booking it belongs to.
- An unfinished top-up can be resumed or abandoned — it no longer hangs with no explanation.
- You can see how long the payment page stays valid.
- Receipts for top-ups and payments arrive in the app and by e-mail.
- One commission instead of three. The platform used to charge for joining a game, for topping up, and for booking. Now it is 5% on renting a pitch and nothing else, and that figure is named in the breakdown itself. Amator charges nothing for a wallet top-up or for joining a game.
- The payment provider's markup is labelled as theirs, not ours.
Games and squads
- A game has a name you can say out loud, and a short code you can read out.
- Recruiting by position: you can ask for a goalkeeper and two defenders rather than "3 more people" — with a skill level per position where that matters.
- The squad is visible, and players pick their own seat in it.
- The organizer can play for free, spreading their share across the others — and everyone sees the honest price.
- Several ways to pay in one game, including ones we do not stock — the organizer names their own.
- "I'll answer later" on an invitation is now a real answer rather than silence: a reminder arrives daily until the person decides.
- Reactions to an invitation reply, and a reason for declining, so the organizer understands what happened.
- A queue when the game is full — you can see how many are ahead of you.
- The organizer is offered their own previous notes for a game.
- The organizer's comment can be written in several languages.
- Organizers can publish house rules of their own for their games.
- A late cancellation is now the organizer's decision. The share used to be forfeited on the spot. It is now held, and the organizer can return it or keep it — with a reason the player sees. If the organizer never answers, it is kept when the game is settled, which is what the player is warned of when they withdraw.
Search and navigation
- Search no longer depends on Polish letters. "lodz" finds "Łódź", "zolta" finds "Żółta". This covers cities, addresses and the district list, which was the most frequent complaint.
- The city list is ordered by population rather than alphabetically — the city you want is at the top.
- The pitch catalogue gained filters: by location, and by whether the pitch can be booked at all.
- On a wide screen (tablet, desktop) there is now a side panel with the sections.
- The home screen now opens with the wallet.
Notifications
- A full set of notifications about money: top-up, payment, refund, game settlement.
- Notifications about late cancellations — to the organizer about the request, to the player about the decision.
- Daily reminders for anyone who postponed an invitation.
- The notification settings screen no longer shows technical names — every entry reads as a sentence.
Everything else
- The app has moved entirely to Roboto and ships the font itself — it looks the same on every device.
- An update no longer takes the page away without warning — it asks first.
- Reporting a bug now opens your mail app in one tap.
- Fixed the keyboard shortcut bar sticking on Mac.

For pitch owners and their staff
This part is new. A venue used to be manageable only through us — now the owner has a panel of their own.
- Enter your venue straight from the app, beside your personal and business profiles. A badge shows how many requests are waiting for a decision.
- Roles: owner, manager, desk staff, viewer. Each sees exactly what they need and nothing beyond it.
- A panel with tabs: requests · pitches · house rules · people · venue details.
The pitch
- The pitch page answers the main question first: is it ready to take bookings. Three lines — a price, opening hours, online booking — each with a link to whatever is missing.
- A calendar for the pitch — a week or a day: what is free, what is booked, what is waiting for your answer, what is waiting to be paid, what is blocked. From a free slot you can create a reservation or block the time right away.
- Prices per length — an hour, ninety minutes, two hours, separately. Plus pricing by headcount if that is how you sell.
- A weekly schedule, with several windows in one day, and separate closures — holidays, cleaning, an outside rental. Before saving you see how many days it opens or closes, and whether it touches existing bookings.
- If you are not ready to publish a whole schedule, you can publish individual slots instead. Then only what you published can be booked.
- Manual blocks — one-off ranges taken off the market, with a reason only your own people see.
- Manual reservations — the ones taken at the desk: no payment, paid on site, or a payment request from the customer's wallet (they are notified, have 2 hours, and you decide in advance what happens if nobody answers).
- Dividing a pitch into parts that rent separately, each with its own prices and formats.
- Formats — a pitch can host several game sizes, and all of them are visible to people searching.
The venue
- House rules separately for renters and for players, in several languages, with versions.
- People: add someone, change a role, remove access.
- A queue of booking requests, if you confirm by hand.
- Venue details: address, contacts, hours, amenities, photos.
What we are planning
Amator is already in the App Store and on Google Play — here is what we are working on next.
- Chat in the app — conversations for a game and for a venue, with notifications in real time.
- Payments in EUR and multi-currency wallets — so fields can be rented outside Poland too.
- A premium account — a longer booking horizon and other benefits. The basic account stays free: everything you can do in the app today will stay free.
- The lowest price of the last 30 days — if discounts appear or prices start to move, the honest price history will be shown next to the price.
- Tournaments and mini-leagues — tables, brackets, statistics.
- Entry by QR code.
- A player rating — no details promised yet: first we want it to be fair.
Later (v7)
- A player’s schedule — when you want to play: days of the week and times of day.
- Deposits — who owes whom, and who is in the black.
